Can I use Curved Flooring on floor heating?2023-07-10T18:27:35+03:00

Both electric and hydronic heating systems can be utilized with engineered wood curved flooring. Due to potential moisture concerns of hydronic systems, it’s important that a few factors be considered to ensure the best outcome possible.

  • Floor temperature: The maximum temperature for the subfloor surface is 30ºC (85ºF). In addition, the boiler temperature should never exceed 43ºC (110ºF).
  • Subfloor specification: Both plywood and concrete are appropriate subfloors, as well as a combination of both.
  • Heating tube installation: After tubes are placed and the self-leveling concrete has cured, the system should be tested prior to installing the hardwood.
  • Climate controls: Complete periodic checks on the temperatures (listed above) and to ensure the humidity levels stay between 30% and 50% to avoid splitting or gaps in your hardwood.

Keep in mind that engineered wood floors act as an insulator, therefore for heated floors we produce a special thickness of 13,5 mm flooring, so the heat produced by the floor would have a more substantial effect on ambient air temperatures.

How to install Curved Flooring?2023-07-10T18:27:27+03:00

All of our floors are connected using the tongue and groove method. The factory recommendation is to install the floor glued down.

How complicated is it to install a curved floor?2023-07-10T18:27:17+03:00

From the technical stand point, the curved hardwood floor does not differ much from any straight hardwood floor, the only exception being the shape. Together with the order, we provide you with the installation plan where all boards have been marked with a row and sequence number. The corresponding numbers are marked on the individual boards.

All the projects and the boards used are saved in our database which means that should the need occur we can easily replace a damaged board and deliver it to you.

How to maintain the floor?2023-07-10T18:27:11+03:00

Following the installation, the flooring should be finished with a top coat. The longevity and durability of your hardwood floors can be preserved with routine cleaning and proper maintenance. When routine cleaning no longer restores the floor’s shine, it’s time to recoat the surface. The necessary frequency for recoating the surface depends on the volume of foot traffic on the floor.

As we use Osmo oils for finishing, we also recommend Osmo maintenance products.

What if a board gets damaged and needs to be replaced?2023-07-10T18:27:04+03:00

All the projects and the boards used are saved in our database which means that should the need occur we can easily replace a damaged board. All we need to know is the number of the board.

What is the wastage?2023-07-10T18:26:59+03:00

Wastage – the cut or otherwise discarded sections of flooring that do not belong in the floored space and which cannot be reused.

We typically set the wastage figure at extra 5 to 10 cm around the perimeter of the space depending on its size that results in wastage of up to 5%. All flooring installation requires cutting.

Can I use Curved Flooring outside?2023-07-10T18:26:53+03:00

Curved engineered wood flooring is not suitable for exterior surfaces.

Can I use Curved Flooring for something else than a floor?2023-07-10T18:26:47+03:00

Our live edge flooring material can also be used for walls and ceilings. For that purpose, we are able to produce it in a special thickness of 13,5 mm. For more information, please contact our sales team.
